A Quiet First Step, But It Begins

When I stepped into Dual Blessing Bhd, tucked along Old Klang Road, I quietly realized—this was it. The very first step of the free Fix Technical Support program had just begun.

Established back in 2001, this nonprofit has been providing training and job opportunities for adults with disabilities and those recovering from addiction. Their mission is simple but powerful: help people gain skills to live independently, with dignity.

Mr Goh, who is also a person with disability, welcomed me warmly. He shared their ongoing efforts to collaborate with local colleges—hoping to bring structured skills training to their members. He also mentioned that if I knew any professionals willing to volunteer as trainers, the organization would truly appreciate it. “When someone is willing to guide them,” he said, “they really do go further.”

We didn’t dive into tech details. This meeting was about listening, understanding, and sensing where help can fit in. No formalities, no media, just a quiet conversation. But for me, it marked a meaningful beginning.

The pace may vary, the path may shift—but the first step is real. And now, I know I can keep going.
