Growing Connections, One Conversation at a Time

Today I met Mr. Murugeswaran Veerasamy, President of the Damai Disabled Person Association Malaysia (DAMAI). He was curious to learn more about how we provide free technical support to NGOs.

Mr. Murugeswaran has been deeply involved in disability advocacy for many years. He currently serves on the National Council for Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. His commitment to humanitarian and volunteer work has earned him the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) award. He has long been a respected voice for equal opportunities and continues to inspire many organizations that serve the disabled community.

During our meeting, he shared warmly about DAMAI’s long-standing efforts in promoting accessibility policies, organizing inclusive events, and advocating for improvements in public infrastructure. He also spoke openly about their limitations. With no dedicated technical team, many things they hope to improve, like smoother online communication or clearer presentation of their event pages, have been difficult to implement.

We had an open and easy-going conversation. No sales pitch, just ideas and exploration. We discussed possible platform choices, ways to simplify information, and how to manage updates with limited manpower.

DAMAI expressed interest in receiving ongoing support and offered to connect us with other NGOs who may benefit. That meant a lot to me.

This is the kind of rhythm I enjoy. No urgency, no pressure. Just honest connection. When something begins with kindness and sincerity, I believe it will grow when the time is right.
